Being a student can take a toll on your health, both physically and mentally. Physically, you may notice that you are putting on weight and feeling sluggish due to a higher consumption of fatty foods and alcohol, combined with a decrease in exercise. Mentally, the stress of the exam period or financial worries might make you suffer from insomnia, panic attacks, and/or regular headaches or nausea.

If you feel it’s all becoming too much for you, make sure you book an appointment immediately with the relevant student services contact at your university. The student services department usually consists of financial advisers, health and well-being practitioners, counsellors, as well as accommodation, learning difficulty, disability and international student support teams.
