HOW IT ALL STARTED

Despite the sudden world media focus on Europe and its refugees, the Islamization of Germany began in the 1960s, when the country started welcoming Turkish immigrants. The reason German politicians gave to the German people for this open-doors policy toward the Turks was the same justification that many American politicians, such as Jeb Bush, have given to American voters for a more liberal immigration policy. The Turks were needed to do low-wage jobs Germans no longer wanted to do, but that wasn’t the most important reason. More critically, they explain, Turkish workers were needed to support the economy and the future retirement income of German workers.

Why were there not enough Germans to fulfill the country’s economic needs? Interestingly, the liberals in Germany, just like the progressives in America, have preached for years that smaller families were morally superior to larger families. That lie, which led to a birthrate below what is needed to replace those who die every year, created the convenient need for a replacement population. German families have a meager fertility rate of 1.4 babies per woman, according to the most recent data provided by the World Bank.[246] That is less than replacement level, so it became clear by the late 1950s and early ’60s that Germany would not have enough workers to earn taxable income to support German retirees and continue all the benefits Germans enjoyed as part of the nation’s expanding welfare state. In short, not enough worker bees. To replace the millions of Germans lost to contraception and abortion, Germany turned to the Turks, welcoming hundreds of thousands of them into its cities and towns, just as America has turned to the Mexicans, Central Americans, and more recently, to Muslims from Somalia, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and Burma.

The same phenomenon has occurred in France, which has welcomed the North Africans, and in Belgium, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Britain, and Italy.

These Muslim immigrants, unlike their native European counterparts, believe in having babies. Lots of them. Compared to the fertility rates of 1.4 to 1.9 children per woman among Western women, the Muslims have fertility rates of three to seven children per woman.[247]

If current migration trends continue, it is not far-fetched to conclude that Germany, Belgium, and France, which is already 10 percent Muslim, could approach a majority Muslim population within seventy-five years. The United Nations has said the waves of migrants and refugees will not stop anytime soon. The world’s refugee population now stands at an all-time record high of 65.3 million and growing, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.[248] So the record influx into Europe and increasing influx into the United States has the potential to continue for many years to come.

The German government announced in the summer of 2015 that it would welcome a staggering 1 million refugees and asylum seekers into the country by the end of the year, five times the normal number. Prime minister Angela Merkel said the country could accommodate 500,000 refugees annually “for years.” By the middle of 2016, the number had exceeded 1.
