Later on that evening, the news services were reporting that airstrikes had begun over Serbia and Kosovo. The tension in the air reminded me of the Gulf War start. The difference this time was that I was dressing to go in to work, and my first real combat, within the hour, instead of watching it on TV.

I would do my best, and just hoped that I wouldn’t let anyone in my squadron down. T-Dub and a few others had written letters to their wives and children to be delivered if they didn’t come back. I gave that a lot of thought before deciding against it. How could I possibly say enough?
