Shit. I’ve been here for two hours and haven’t got shit done. I couldn’t get her and the night out of my head. I don’t think last night had gone quite the way I’d planned. “Robert you can’t just call at the last minute and decide you want to see the kids, I need advanced notice. That wasn’t part of the deal. No, we won’t be coming to you, you’ll have to come to us. We can meet you halfway in a public place but that’s as far as I’m willing to go.” That’s what she thinks. No fucking way! And what the fuck was that in her voice? I had a sneaky suspicion that I knew.

I waited for her to hang up to show myself. She almost jumped out of her skin when I walked up to the lounge where she was watching the kids play. She looked guilty as hell when I looked down at her. “Problem?” She shook her head and looked away.
