“Sure.”

We stroll to a classic red barn and Ray slides open the two big doors wide. There’s a couple horses stalled there, chuffing and stomping their hooves. Hay, both baled and loose seems everywhere. And hidden in the back, in the last stall, a mad scientist still. All copper and burners and scorched tin. At the very end of a curved tube, is a steady drip, drip, drip into an old military canteen.

Ray swipes the canteen, splashes a little into his mug, offers some to me with a look.

But I wave him off, “No thanks. Your canteen looks like it’s from WWII.”
