Clark couldn’t work out what had possessed him to invite Jack along for the evening. He was supposed to be the man’s new boss, for goodness sake. He wasn’t meant to be wining and dining the man.

He had never behaved this way before with any of his employees. He had never taken any of his house sitters around the coast, never taken them to dinner or lunch, and certainly had never invited them out to drinks with his friends.

He put the strange decisions he had been making down to the fact that James had left him and Jack clearly needed some company to settle his nerves. He blamed what had happened by the pool on James too. It had been a while since he had been with anyone, and Jack hadn’t put up much resistance.

Still, he thought, as he pulled on a pair of black jeans and dried the worst of the moisture from his freshly washed hair, that all didn’t explain what had come over him in the car.

When Jack had parked at the edge of the village and started stretching his legs, moving his hips as much as the confines of the car would allow, Clark had had to fight to keep his hands to himself. When the man had announced, with no trace of innuendo, “God, I’m stiff”, Clark had nearly lost the battle to keep his eyes forward and his tongue in his mouth. He was glad Jack had stepped out of the car before he dropped his head into the man’s lap and tasted what he hadn’t swallowed the night before.

That, Clark decided, was definitely not going to happen. No matter how many drinks they had, nothing improper was going to happen when they got back to the villa. Clark was going to make sure of it. He was determined to get their relationship back on the employer-employee track.

That was why it came as such a surprise to him to find himself in Jack’s bedroom, watching the man wander about with nothing more than a towel around his waist. When Jack found him standing in the doorway, Clark would have put up a strong argument that he was the more shocked party. It took him a few minutes to find his tongue.

“Nice shower?” He cringed at the question. Jack looked at him like he had just asked if he would prefer puppies or babies for breakfast.

“Em, yeah. Is something wrong?” Jack turned his back and began digging around in his suitcase.

“No… Just, em…” Clark was starting to feel like an idiot. He couldn’t think of anything to say.

The expanse of pale, muscled back Jack presented to him stopped any thoughts in his brain on their way to form coherent sentences. Unbidden, the image of that back spread beneath him came into his mind. Instead of the water drying quickly on Jack’s skin, Clark imagined sweat beading there. He thought about grabbing the hands holding the towel and pinning them together so he could keep Jack still while he pounded into him.
