LED bulb holder

The white lead attached to this MR16 light bulb is a “MR16 MR11 G4 LED Bulb Holder Base Socket Wire Connector” which is a very useful thing to buy. It’s a bulb holder for MR16, MR11, G4 & and a couple of other type of LED bulbs that we won’t go into. It’s a one holder fits “nearly” all type holder, which is very useful for you. They can be purchased from EBay. You can get around 10 for £2 and they are well worth ordering.

MR16 bulbs: Bulb size 50mm/pin size (5.3mm)

MR16 light bulbs have a built in constant current driver that enables them to run on a reasonably varied power source. The specs I have seen say they can run from 11 volt to 15 volt, though personally I have never ran them above 13 volts (check the specs on the actual bulbs you buy). You can even have them running (very dimly) on a 9 volt battery. So you should have no problem connecting them straight to your 12 volt system. These are very good bulbs for you to choose. There is no + or – (no polarity) on these bulbs, they don’t care which way they are wired so they don’t mind which way you plug them into the light bulb holder.

You can buy MR16 light bulbs & fittings very cheaply on EBay. You can get a clip on plate or a MR16 case enclosure with the bulb attachment already fitted so you can hang them from the ceiling with a couple of screws.
