Apply glue on the banding and filler strip boards. Install the top section flush with the banding face edges. Use 2″-long screws in the previously drilled pilot holes to secure the sections.

Lay the cabinet on its back. Cut and install the top banding K and L following the same procedures as the lower banding. Use glue and 1¼″-long screws to attach the three boards.

The upper skirt is mainly decorative but serves as a guard to hide the cabinet lamp. The front and side skirts M and N are installed flush with the banding face edges. The corners of the skirt boards are mitered at 45° and ¾″-square cleats P and Q are attached to the skirt boards. These cleats will be used to secure the skirt assembly. Rough cut the three skirt boards a little longer than required, and attach the cleats flush with the lower edges on the back face. Now, miter cut the skirt boards to the lengths given in the Materials List. This procedure will miter both skirt and cleat boards in one operation.
