You can detect information using any of those methods. While everybody wants to have great, clear mental images, we don’t all start off that way. Most of us actually start off by detecting information more with clairaudience and clairsentience. José Silva felt it is best if you start by sensing information and gradually develop expertise with the others.

He observed that those who start with great mental images often don’t bother to develop the other means of detecting psychic information, and this limits their ability. So if you do have great mental images, remember to also use the other modes from time to time.
