The Prophecy Unveils

“Maverick…”

The voice was soft, eerie, and far too familiar. A shiver ran down my spine as I recognized it—the same voice that haunted my dreams and echoed through the visions. The same voice I’d heard in the arena. But where was it coming from?

Before I could make sense of it, the vision faded, and I was back in the armory, gripping the weapon in my hand like it was my only anchor to reality. My breath came in ragged gasps, my heart pounding as I tried to process what had just happened.

Yannis had been watching me closely, his eyes sharp with concern. He stepped forward, his voice gentle but firm. “Maverick, are you alright? What happened?”

I blinked, trying to shake off the lingering effects of the vision. My voice felt shaky, unsteady, as I forced the words out. “I’m… I’m not sure. It felt like a flashback, but… it wasn’t like anything I’ve experienced before. It was like I was seeing something from my past, but also something I don’t remember.”

Nessa and Lokan, who had been watching from a distance, exchanged wary glances. I could see the unease in their eyes, the way they kept looking at me, trying to figure out what was going on. My hand trembled as I held the weapon, the weight of it pulling me back to the present.

Yannis frowned, his concern deepening. “Was there anything specific in the vision? Anything that might help us understand what you saw?”

I hesitated, trying to find the right words to describe the strange, disjointed images that had flashed before me. “There were two figures. One of them was shrouded in shadows, and the other was a man. They were arguing about something, but I couldn’t hear what they were saying. And then… the darkened figure turned around. It had these piercing violet eyes, and it felt like it was looking right at me.”

Yannis’s expression grew more serious, his eyes narrowing as he processed my words. “Violet eyes… That’s not something you see every day.”

The figure from your vision is connected to your past, Maverick, Seraphyna’s voice whispered in my mind, her tone a mixture of warning and reassurance. But the answers you seek may not be easy to find. Trust in yourself, and in our bond. We will face whatever comes, together.

I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself as I opened my hand to examine the weapon I had instinctively grasped. The light in the armory reflected off the smooth, circular surfaces of what I now held—a set of chakrams. Their edges were sharp and gleaming, and the metal was intricately patterned with symbols that seemed to pulse faintly with a strange, otherworldly energy.

Yannis stepped closer, his brow furrowed in surprise. “Chakrams?” he muttered, more to himself than to anyone else. “These aren’t typical weapons we keep in the armory. They’re… uncommon, to say the least.”
