Chapter Twenty

I didn’t even bother to disguise myself while walking down the streets of Fryse. I was no longer the queen, I had no reason to stick out anymore. Yet people still stared at me in complete bewilderment. I just hoped nobody tried to kill me again. Other than that, I could live with a few people staring at me despite how uncomfortable it would always make me.

Madison opened the door to the Fryse church, motioning for me to enter. It was a small building, not much bigger than a house. It was pretty dark in there, the curtains were tightly drawn, only have a few candles light the area.

“Hello,” a female voice said from another room. A woman with short blonde hair entered the room from the darkness, wearing a simple long grey dress. “Can we help you?”

I nodded, “I’m here to learn about the prophecy.”

Another woman walked up from behind her with a plate of food, immediately dropping and shattering the plate as soon as she made eye contact with me. “Danielle… do you know who this is???”

Danielle looked to the other woman with shoulder length brown hair in confusion. “No… who is it?”

“That’s Saige Abigail!!!”

Danielle’s jaw dropped as she slowly looked back to me in shock. The other woman quickly jerked her arm down as the two dropped to the ground in unison and began to bow as deeply as they could. “You Majesty!!! Welcome! What could we ever do for you!!!”

“Hello…” I said awkwardly to the two women bowing to me on the ground. “I’m assuming you two are Alev?”

“I am of Alev,” Danielle replied, “Rachel here is of Fryse.”

I gave a small laugh, trying not to seem as if I were laughing at the two. “Well, there is no need to bow. I am no longer queen, and I never was your queen, there is no need to respect me,” I told them.

“Yes, there is!!!” Danielle said, not picking herself up from off the ground still.

“Why is that?” I asked, thinking their antics were quite silly at first.

Until Rachel said, “because you’re the savior!”

Madison audibly gasped, taking a step back out of shock. “She is???”

“She is!” Danielle exclaimed, still pressed onto the ground.

“Please, stand up you two,” I asked. Before I could even finish speaking, they were up on their feet. “Please, explain to me how I am the chosen one.”

The two looked to each other, seemingly surprised. “She doesn’t know…” Danielle said softly to Rachel.

“Please, explain it to me,” I asked.

“Sit, sit!” Rachel exclaimed while motioning towards the small table up against the wall. “Would you like some tea?”

“Yes, please,” I replied. I had to get used to drinking tea constantly now that I was back in Selestria.

She went back to the kitchen to make some tea as Danielle sat down at the table with Madison and I. It didn’t take long for the tea to be finished as Rachel came scurrying back to the table to pour each of us some tea.

“So…” Danielle began as she folded her hands together and leaned forward, getting ready to explain.
