SCARLET

All three guys were on edge, and it was stressing me out. It had been nine days since I was abducted by them, eight days since they told me they’d keep me, and two days since they had called my family and set up a meeting. I was constantly keeping track of every hour and every day they kept me. I couldn’t help myself. I woke up every day wondering if they would change their minds. Just because Seb was fucking me and Tristan seemed to be growing fonder of me didn’t mean they couldn’t change their minds and throw me to the wolves.

Tristan wouldn’t tell me anything about anything. He kept telling me it was for my own good. I didn’t need to know because I would just worry about it. Little did he know the less I knew, the more I worried. I was completely in the dark on what time the meeting was, where it would be, and what all they would be telling them. The only thing he kept saying was that he promised me he would keep me safe.

Strange words to hear from a leader of a crime syndicate.

Seb had been saying the same thing every night he came to my room. Last night when he showed up, just as I was getting out of the shower and crawling into bed, he had grabbed hold of me with a new force and thrown me onto the mattress so hard I had bounced a few times before he was on top of me, kissing me like his damn life depended on it.

“What’s wrong, Seb?” I asked when he had finally released my mouth long enough for me to come up for air.

“Nothing, princess,” he had murmured into my neck. “I just need to feel you.” And damn did he feel me. He had fucked me into that mattress so hard I saw stars by the time he had finished. When he held me after, tenderly rubbing all the bruises and bite marks he had left, he kissed my hair and murmured, “I will fight anyone tomorrow that tries to tell us we can’t keep you.”

“It’s tomorrow?” I asked.

“Yeah,” he said as his hands wove through my hair.

“Feel free to maim or kill anyone you see fit,” I said without humor. “I really would prefer to not go back there.”

Once the sun was starting to set, they all went to their separate rooms to get ready. I assumed that meant it was time. I snuck into Tristan’s room while he was in the shower and made myself comfortable on his bed. His room was the exact opposite of Sebastian’s. Where Seb’s was dark and moody, Tristan’s was bright and almost cozy. Everything about his room welcomed you in. I picked up the drumsticks on his nightstand and tried flipping them between my knuckles like I saw him do so many times.

“You aren’t holding them correctly,” he said as he stepped out of his bathroom in a burst of steam.
