This new one, a painstaking pointillist experiment, was pure shit. It was worse than shit. It was shit she had polished into a bright fluorescent stink. She tore it into tatters before Barry could even see it.

He jumped to his feet.

“What’d you do that for?” he asked.

The disappointment on his face made her sad.

“Sorry,” she said. “I’m no good.”
