Focus on learning, not optimization.

All your energy needs to be channeled toward accelerating learning. Speed is key. Don’t waste any effort trying to optimize your servers, code, database, and so on for the future. Chances are quite high that you will not have a scaling problem when you launch. In the rare event that you do (a great problem), most scaling problems can be initially patched with additional hardware that you can justify because you should be charging your customers—buying you time to address the problem more efficiently.
