Jimmy fingered the trigger of the .357 Magnum nervously. Even though the safety was on, I took it from him on general principals.

“So now what?” Jimmy said. “Do we just go? Or do we… like… shoot him in the head or what?”

“I think we’ll wait for a while and see what happens,” Artie said. “We don’t know anything about how this… disease, or whatever it is, works and I think we should take this opportunity to learn everything we can.”

“I agree,” I said. “If we learn something, then he won’t have died in vain, right?”
