Insect- and Rodent-Transmitted Diseases

Rationale

Some insect bites can cause serious health problems and, in some instances, arboviral (i.e., insect-borne) diseases can cause an epidemic or death. To help identify those bites that need immediate medical attention and help reduce the risk of spreading a virus, it is important to identify high-risk areas, incidents in the area, symptoms, prevention techniques, and treatments. Contact with urine, droppings, or saliva from rodents carrying hantavirus may transmit the disease.
