Vance did end up talking to Morgan about us, I could tell that Morgan still held anger inside of him against Vance but he did agree that we needed to get along.

As the weeks turned into months and the school year came to an end I dreaded it. Morgan would be working long hours again and then be leaving for college. The stress of me cheating on him had subsided and the more time we spent together made me fall even more in love with him. It took him some time for our relationship to get back to normal but when it did we couldn’t keep our hands to ourselves. Any time we had alone together we spent talking, kissing (we kissed a lot!), and having sex. Rachel had begged me to come stay a few weeks with her over our summer break, but I didn’t want to leave Morgan. “But…you said you would! I thought you were supposed to be coming home every other weekend anyways. Next summer we’ll be rushing around to go away to college.” She whined into the phone.

“I know…I just. I don’t want to miss spending time with Morgan.” I told her.

“Ahh! Men!” She exclaimed. “You’re choosing a guy over your BFF!”

That made me feel like a horrible person, “I’ll talk to mom, maybe we can fly you out here for a couple of weeks.”

“Ohhh, that would be awesome! You talk to your mom and let me know what she says. Then I’ll talk to my mom.” Rachel said and I could tell she was smiling.

“Okay, I’ll go talk to her and let you know what she says. Love you.”

“Love you too!”

We hung up and I jumped off my bed and went downstairs. Mom wasn’t inside so I walked out onto the large wrap around porch. She was talking on her cell phone and held up her hand telling me to wait. “Okay, love you too.” Mom hung up the phone and blew out a frustrated breath. I gave her a wide-eyed questioning look as I waited for her to say something.

“Your dad said you need to come stay the summer with him.” She said and blew out a breath.

“What? No!” I argued.

“Tabitha, he said that since you will be busy next summer getting ready for college and he didn’t pressure you to come home on the weekends during the school year, that he wants you to come stay with him this summer. I can’t change his mind. I just hung up with Kevin, he said that you have to go since your dad didn’t push to make you go back like the court papers have stated in them.”

“But…I was going to ask if Rachel can come stay here for a couple of weeks. I…Morgan will be leaving for college and I won’t get to see him.” I continued to argue.

“I’m sorry, but until you’re eighteen we have to follow the court orders.” Mom said with a defeated tone.

I plopped down on a chair, “Can I call and talk to dad? Maybe he’ll change his mind?” I asked.
