About three hours ago we parked my car in the field at the edge of my parents’ property just to get away. It’s nice living so close, but we barely get alone time so this is what it’s come to. Sneaking out and driving until no one can see us. Screwing in random places and waiting until the last minute before getting me home right at curfew every night.
“What time is it?” He pulls his phone out to see it’s almost nine. “Want to take a ride? Or you gotta get home?”
“I don’t have to be home till midnight.”
“Want to take a ride? I’ll give you gas money.” He smirks and leans over, pecking my cheek.
“I’m down for anything, as long as it’s with you. But I don’t know where I’m going,” I laugh.
“Yeah, just uh, get to the expressway and head west.” He falls silent after that and looks out the side window for a while.
I reach over and crank up the music then take his hand in mine. He’s quiet most of the drive but it’s nice just being with him. About an hour into the drive he points to an exit and tells me to get off. I have no fucking clue where we are but he wouldn’t take me anywhere crazy dangerous...hopefully.
“Where the hell are we going?” I mutter. It’s dark and these back roads he’s directing me on aren’t lit at all. “Maybe you should drive.”
“No, it’s just up here, but there’s a half driveway right up here, it cuts in where the grass is all overgrown, park the car there and wait until I call you, okay?” He points to where it looks like a driveway was started but never finished and it doesn’t lead to anything except an overgrown field.
“Uh.” I laugh nervously. “You’re not leaving me in the car out here. Where the fuck are we?” The house nearby looks like no one’s lived in it for years and there are windows busted out. I glance over at him and he’s glaring out the window. “Sutton, what the fuck are we here for?” My adrenaline starts to rush through me. I thought he’d never bring me anywhere dangerous but maybe I was wrong. All I know is there’s no way in hell I’m sitting alone in this car out here, waiting to get killed.
“Chill out.” He chuckles. “It’s probably safe, but I’m going to make sure before I have you pull up to the house. I used to live here. Sit your pretty ass tight, and I’ll call you then drive down the road and I’ll be standing in the driveway.” He leans over and gives me a quick kiss before jumping out, and that’s when I see the gun pushed into the back of his pants.
“Oh what the fuck!” I shriek, opening my door and jumping out. “Sutton, what the fuck are you doing with a gun!” Pissed doesn’t begin to explain how I’m feeling. A gun? A fucking gun!
“Shhh, Leena, shut up,” he urges as he hurries toward me.
