The “accreditation” process was carried out through a “circle of trust” whereby members monitor each other’s progress against the Five Precepts. Members also are encouraged to conform to IFOAM standards. Through their network, members sell a diversity of organic rice products to both domestic retail shops and international exporters. Registries in early 2015 showed a total of 119 Moral Rice Network members and 400 certified organic members. Despite a shortage of Moral Rice farmers, over two thousand people subscribed to the temple’s social welfare fund.
