After the final announcement, Ed continued with "We are a 65 foot trawler, red hull, white deck. nine children aboard and three adults. two more persons from rescue operation, one adult in need of medical attention, and one child. Over!" Waiting for an answer, Ed looked at Rebecca, who was listening intensely, and assured her that the CG is always on alert and should answer shortly. Beginning his radio request once again, waiting for a reply. The moments passed by very slowly, then the sound of the CG alert came over the speaker, " Aqua de Vida', This is the United States Coast Guard, what is your emergency, over! Ed responded describing the situation and that one of those rescued, an adult woman, was in need of medical attention.

"We are approximately two hours from Port Aransas, also, we had to cut loose the fifteen foot Tracker boat in order to retrieve our rescue party in another craft, over". "Aqua de Vida, we will send out a unit for the Tracker. What is its reg. numbers?, over" Ed replied," Hold on, Coast Guard, I will ask the pilot. over" Calling down to Rebecca who had gone to check on the woman, Ed requested the reg numbers of the Tracker. A moment of silence , then Rebecca called out, " TX001TG ! ". Returning to the radio, Ed said, "Coast Guard, the reg numbers are, TX001TG, over."The Coast Guard responder said,"Aqua de Vida, repeat those reg numbers again, over!" Ed obliged with, "Coast Guard, the reg numbers are, TX001TG, over." After a moment or two, there was a second Coast Guard person on the radio requesting another verification of the reg numbers.

Ed was joined by Jake, who asked, "Whats going on with the CG?" Ed replied, "I have no idea, but they are really making something out of the reg number on that Tracker!" Suddenly, the radio echoed with a strange sound like people rushing around, then," Aqua de Vida, we will be at your adjusted location in approximately 26 minutes. Stand by to be ready to receive a boarding by helicopter unit! over!" Ed and Jake looked at each other, then at Rebecca who was just coming up from the stateroom after checking on the rescued two. " Rodger that, Coast Guard! We will be ready, over." "Thank you, Aqua de Vida," The transmission closed with the Coast Guard signing off! , "This is the United States Coast Guard, out!" The three had different thoughts on what had taken place. Rebecca said, " Did they really say a helicopter?" Jake replied, " That's what I heard also, what about you, Captain?"

Ed was not quite certain as to what he should say , however he knew something was certainly different than any of them had predicted. Rebecca began to gather the young ones and have them come to the main salon. The rescued woman and child were still in the stateroom, where Lulu had been entertaining the girl while her mother rested. The twins sat with Sophie in the salon with the rest of the group.
