Write out words to favorite songs on a large chart. Point to the words as the children sing them. Later in the year, invite children to point to the words with appealing pointers as the words are sung. Use highlighting tape to draw attention to sight words that are helpful for children to know. Making one chart each quarter will give you four new charts each year. You can store charts with songs, poems, and chants by folding the edges of the chart paper over the sides of a hanger and taping in place. The charts can be hung and stored easily.
