The little monkeys family gathered round, pulling at the toy hippo. The one who had stolen Zimbarwi screamed at the others, and then he threw him away as hard as he could. Down, down Zimbarwi hurtled, hitting the tree’s branches as he fell. He stopped with a jolt, as he got lodged in the fork of a branch. Poor Zimbarwi was very frightened. He lay still for a while, and then tried with all his strength to free himself, but it was no use, he was stuck tight!

Jenny returned to her room, and soon discovered that her beautiful little hippopotamus was missing! Everyone searched high and low for Zimbarwi, but no matter where they looked, the hippo was not to be found. A very unhappy little girl cried herself to sleep that night.
