75 skin-covered robots tangle like webs inside my memory,

spinning souvenir networks of every daddy date turned

meal ticket, turned regular. Deep-pocketed men with an even deeper

sense of self-hate—I’ve assumed every position imaginable.

The monster in their closet. That boy who beat them up for looking.

The men who liked it and the ones who pretended they didn’t.

Reminded that on our backs, boys like me can change your world.

Swallow it whole. Sweat ridden. A dark sparkler of your

repressed fantasies. The white man’s up-and-coming on my

down-and-going. Small talk never was my strong suit.

I prefer to get deep. Because what the fuck’s the point if you’re not

cumming? Because the rent is due and the loneliest men pay it forward.

Because sometimes being the monster in their closet means you don’t

have to be yours. Because 75 dates at two hundred dollars an hour

paid the rent. Because everybody wants to be somebody and if you don’t

breathe in, a person can be anything for ten minutes.
