I'M STILL FALLING.

I've been falling for a while now, and my back hasn't hit the ground like I expected. The Queen Mother's long gone as well, Habanera has started playing in the background, and all I can see now is the dizzyingly endless pattern of green-and-white walls of an entryway.

Also...I still have a knife stuck in my chest, the pain is excruciating, and...oh!

A fiery door suddenly appears below me, and I mean this literally: it's a door that's on fire, currently burning, consumed by flames...you get the drift, right?

Letters start to appear within the flames, and they eventually spell out—-

I almost laugh. I probably would have if I weren't so worried about choking on my own blood. Obviously, the knife in my chest is a clear indication I've failed Stage 2 on my first try, and I suppose I should be thankful Wunderland is willing to give me another shot, but...

It hurts like hell, and so far I haven't seen any magical potion floating around to heal the big-ass hole in my chest.

How in the world am I going to...oh my God!

A planet's worth of gravity seems to have exploded inside the entryway, and I'm suddenly falling a thousand times faster than any of Newton's apples. The tempo of Habanera also keeps up, its notes playing out in a dangerously fast beat just as the fiery letters below me reshape themselves to spell out—-

Yes or No?

"What the fuck?" The words burst out of me. What exactly is it asking?

This is just like one of those arcade machines, and a countdown timer appears to pressure you into inserting more coins—-

"Yes!" I practically yell the word out. It's not like I have any other choice—-

Another player has entered the game.

The flames die in an instant, almost like Wunderland blowing out her birthday candle, and all that's left is a door that swings open just as I'm about to hit its wooden surface.

I fall through it, of course, and once out of the entryway I'm falling even faster.

So bloody fast that everything around me is just a blur, and I can't help squeezing my eyes shut.

For just a few seconds...all I need is just a few seconds to keep my eyes closed...and let myself panic.

CAN I REALLY COME OUT OF THIS ALIVE?

I mean...it's pretty obvious by now that the Queen Mother has had something to do with my fated mates going missing all at the same fucking time. And obviously I want to save them. I'd do anything to save them, but...before I can do that, I need to clear Stage 2, and how the bloody hell am I going to do that if the knife stuck in my chest is making me lose blood at the same rate an NBA player chugs down his Gatorade—-

I land on something big and soft.

My eyes fly open, the pessimistic part of me already terrified that Version 1.
