I woke up with Wrenley still in my arms, right where she had been when she fell asleep the night before.

She’d not planned on staying for the night, but I managed to convince her to stay for dinner, then we just happened to hang out for the rest of the evening. She was turned on enough to want to have sex again before leaving, so we wound back up in my bed.

And after we’d both finished that time, she simply fell asleep in my arms.

Of course, I could have woken her up to send her on her way, but I didn’t want to do that. I enjoyed spending time with Wrenley, and the more time we had together, the better as far as I was concerned. I saw no reason to send her out on her way, and now with her lying on the pillow next to mine, sound asleep, I was so glad that I hadn’t.

I had woken up to dozens of women in my life, but there was something different about Wrenley. I couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was that made her different, but whatever it was, I really did like it. I could easily wake up to this angel in my arms every day of my life and die a happy man.

And that felt good.

All worry that I would lose interest in her after we slept together disappeared.

It had been something on the back of my mind, but I was grateful to say that I didn’t feel anything of that sort. In fact, I was glad she and I had waited as long as we did before sleeping together. There was no doubt in my mind that she wanted to when she came to me the day before, and I hoped now she wasn’t going to wake up with regret over the day before.

She’d been entirely sober the first time we’d had sex, and the second time she’d only had a couple glasses of wine. I knew she had thought through what she was doing before she came over, and I was glad she had explained it all to me in advance.

That was another thing I had fallen in love with her over.

She was so honest, so genuine.

I had never met a woman who was more open with me than Wrenley was. I didn’t think she had a single bone in her body that would allow her to lie to me. Or to anyone else, for that matter. I wondered if she had grown to be that way with her nursing job, or if it was one of the many qualities about her that would have made her the best nurse in the hospital.

Either way, I felt entirely comfortable with Wrenley, and I hoped I was making her feel safe and secure with me, too.

The truth was, I really liked where our relationship was going. I had backed it up to a friendship when I was talking to Alex about it. But, if I was honest with myself, I knew I liked her way more than a friend, or even as a sex partner.
