My morning consisted of waking up to a crying infant.

Ethan wasn’t going crazy or anything, just letting me know he was hungry. And it wasn’t until I had my boob in his mouth that I realized my husbands were still nowhere to be found.

I was nervous as hell, for all of five seconds before I carried our son into the living room of the hotel suite and found them both passed out on the floor. Pants undone, rainbow stickers all over their faces.

Ryan has giant, Jackie O sunglasses on and Ben’s fingernails appear to have been painted.

My smile couldn’t get bigger if someone stuck a clothes hanger in my mouth.

I decide to order breakfast before I wake them, calling down to the hotel restaurant for the works. Pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, toast, home fries… Literally everything. And three mimosas. Hair of the dog for them, and for me, well… I’m on vacation, dammit. I pumped last night. I’ll be fine.

Once Ethan is done with his breakfast, I put him in his little playpen and decide to wake up the boys. It’s clear from looking at them that they had an amazing night and I’m ecstatic for them. Sure, part of me wishes I could have been there. But the other part knows this was really important for them. Their first Pride ever being out and married. It’s a huge deal.

There will be dozens more Prides in our marriage. I’ll tag along next time, but this one was just for them. Plus, if we’re being honest, I was in seventh heaven getting a solid night’s sleep in that amazing hotel bed by myself. You have no idea how cramped it can get sleeping with two men every night. We upgraded to a California King and still I always have either Ben kicking me with his night-fidgets or Ryan burning me to death with his flaming-hot skin.

I did exactly what Ryan told me to do last night. After Ethan fell asleep, I ordered fried pickles and a quesadilla from room service and ate it watching reruns of Bar Rescue. Then I took a long, relaxing bubble bath in the massive Jacuzzi tub before knocking out into a deep, luxurious slumber, dreaming of my sexy husbands and all the delicious things they were most likely doing to each other.

It was a great night of Jess time. Much-needed.

And now I get to be present for the post-Pride hangover, which is really all I could ask for.

I kick Ben’s foot a few times and he groans, before dropping to my knees to push Ryan’s hair back with my fingers. “Hey… wake up, sleepyheads.”

“Mmm…” Ryan’s brow furrows and he tucks his face into Ben’s back. “It’s too bright in here.”

“You’re wearing sunglasses,” I chuckle. “Big ones.”

“What did we do last night?” He begins to sit up, rubbing Ben’s shoulders, who’s still in some awkward version of child’s pose with half his ass hanging out of his pants. “After we left the club everything got fuzzy…”
