FOR ANGER

God of Peace,

I lay the feeling of anger at your feet.

“Anger” is such an ugly word. It’s not something I like to associate my Warrior with, especially during this time. Still, it’s a human emotion experienced by everyone at one time or another.

Just as cancer can spread and take over the body, so can anger take over the spirit. Without Your love and grace, anger can consume the soul, stealing the love and joy that was once there.

When anger takes hold, it is easy to forget about all the good things in life. Anger thrives on impatience, hatred, blame, and violence.

Anger turns the heart from You while stealing joy and depleting energy. Hate and anger do not heal; they only cause harm.

Today, I pray that the emotion of anger does not consume___________’s soul.

Amen.
