Dear Lord,

I’m hurting over the divide that’s growing between my loved ones and me. This condition has challenged so many aspects of my life, and it seems the physical struggle has only added to the tension in my closest relationships. I know my situation has created new burdens for my loved ones, putting more pressure on their time, money, and emotions. I wish it didn’t place this wedge between us, but it feels like we’ve become strangers trying to navigate the same trial on completely separate roads.

Lord, forgive me if I have placed any unrealistic expectations on them. I know my condition has demanded more of them than I can imagine. If I’ve added to their burden unnecessarily, please make that clear to me. I want to right any wrongs and take steps toward reconciliation, rather than widen the gap between us.

If my loved ones have committed hurtful actions toward me, please fill me with forgiveness. I know it doesn’t always come easy, but with Your help, I want to release them to You rather than holding on to bitterness and pain.

Above all, I’m thankful for the reminder that You can rebuild our relationships. As I see these broken pieces of rubble around me, I offer them to You. I ask You to carry each one and build a new wall. Not a wall that divides, but a wall that unites and protects.

Show me what the first step needs to be. Whether my loved ones meet me in the middle or not, I want to live in the peace You provide. Help me to rest in Your grace, and to extend that grace to my loved ones as we navigate this difficult time.
