A Powerful Idea

Just like words, ideas have a substantial creative force. Creativity takes lots of forms—writing a poem, drafting a contract, designing a room, laying out a marketing campaign, forming a partnership or a business proposal, composing a song, solving any kind of problem, and just about every task—large or small—that requires thought and resourcefulness. Most people think that finding life’s little solutions is just busy work, but when you put your imagination into it, it’s creative. Whether you’re building a house or building a theory, your imaging is key to any creative endeavor.

Here’s a little process you can use to engage the imaginative right brain in any of your creative pursuits. The Trigger Word is a simple one: Powerful Idea. I often use it with the French: Idée-force (pronounced “ee-DAY forse”). I would recommend that you use both until the French is strongly anchored in its meaning for you.
