Chapter 7

As he is sprinting across the field he can see the fence line come into view. He does not look back, but he keeps listening for someone to yell at him or take a pot shot at him. But to his surprise, no body yells at him and no body takes any shots at him. He finally reaches the fence line, but he takes no time to look around, he immediately makes a leap for the top of the fence. He lands on the fence and climbs to the top. Once he makes it to the top, he is faced with the razor wire. He takes the rifle off of this back, lies it on top of the razor wire, then he pushes down with the rifle smashing the wire down. He then holds the gun down on the wire as he throws one leg over, then the next leg. As he gets his legs over the wire, he puts his feet into the fencing on the other side and swings the rest of his body over the wire and he catapults himself over and down to the ground on the other side of the fence. He hits the ground and rolls over a couple times, and when he comes to a stop he looks back to the field to see if anyone is following him. He looks around but does not see anyone coming in his direction.

He looks around the area in front of him now, trying to figure out which way to go to make it to the docks. He looks and sees nothing but sand and small bushes, but then when he looks over towards the lights of the city, he can see a dock just a short ways away down the beach. It is lined with lights along the length of the dock, and on the shore just at the dock he sees a small lot where there are several cars parked alongside some bigger trucks that appear to have some kind of cages on the beds of them. He can’t see if there is anything in the cages but there are a number of people moving about the dock and several people standing on the dock just at the ramp that leads onto a boat. The boat looks like a tug type of boat, but he knows that there would be no reason for a tugboat to be at the island. He just knew that the tug boat must be a cover so that they can get the boat to the docks on the mainland without raising any suspicion about where it came from and so that nobody will be asking any questions about why they are there on the mainland docks.

He gets up from where he was kneeling, and begins to run down the beach towards the dock and the boat. When he was about half way to the dock, someone at the dock yelled out and pointed in his direction, “Movement coming
