By the time Gage and I stood on Mylesâs penthouse balcony that night, I recognized that the enormity of the punishment had fuck all to do with the size of the good deed.
I also regretted that I hadnât tied him to the bed in my hotel room or conveniently lost Mylesâs address when Gage had shown up at my door in a pair of tight as fuck green trousers, a fitted patterned shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and his hair even more mussed and just-fucked than usual.
If weâd still been doing friendly erection checks, I would have told him honestly that his dick print was very, very visible, and I was extremely uncomfortable.
âYou look⦠nice,â Iâd gritted out instead, because never let it be said that being almost forty had taken away my awkwardness.
âYeah? Okay, good. Itâs thanks to Toby, my almost brother-in-law,â heâd explained, running a hand down his shirt over his flat, toned abs. âWhen I told him what Iâd worn out the last time we were in town, heâd immediately FedExâd me this outfit and a couple more.â Heâd grinned slyly. Sexily. âHe says that while he admires the âyouthful insoucianceâ of my T-shirt collection, wearing them in public makes it impossible to take me seriously. So what do you think?â Heâd spun in a circle. âDoes this say serious?â
Oh, indeed it did. As in, he was seriously sexy, which made me seriously horny, seriously distracted, and seriously jealous.
I had also seriously not considered the consequences of taking Goodman and his dick print to a party where a bunch of sex-starved, forty-something jackals would salivate over him like he was filet mignon⦠until it was too late.
Theyâd attacked in a pack the moment we arrived, thrusting a drink in my hand and pulling Gage onto the makeshift dance floor until heâd finally begged off to catch his breath. We still hadnât made it out onto the balcony where Jason was, though Iâd sent him a text to come and find us.
âSo, Gage, youâre from Florida? Thatâs adorable,â my gym friend Rodney purred. âI was in Miami Beach for Pride last month. Maybe next time you could show me around.â
âOh, cool.â Gage smiled tentatively. âBut Miamiâs kinda far fromââ
âYou mean you and your sugar daddy were in Miami Beach, Rod,â Curt corrected snidely. âHow is Gandalf these days? Still suffering from arthritis of the dick? Now, Gage, sweetheart, I was telling you about Madonnaâs early yearsââ
âCurtis, youâre embarrassing yourself.â Dustin shook his head sadly. âGage doesnât give a shit about Madonna, and at least Rod can get a sugar daddy. You might as well get the Louis Vuitton logo stamped under your eyes because thatâs the only way to make that baggage attractive.â
Forget Goodman finding a guy to leave the party with. I was afraid heâd get caught in the jackalsâ mating display and be torn limb from limb.
âHeâs actually here to see Jason,â I muttered. âAbout business.â
I watched Jason stroll across the floor, eager for him
