Tonightâs the night. Itâs been two days since I last saw Simon, and Iâm absolutely dying inside.
I knew it would be hard to be away from him, but I didnât realize just how torturous it would be. Forget about the fact that Iâm still sore from our first encounter and my body is aching for his touch. Having been so intimate with him and opening up in a way Iâve never opened up before, and then having the world snatch me away from him is an emotional pain as real as any physical pain Iâve felt.
The night we came back from the falls, I had dinner with Daddy, and he stayed up late watching TV in the living room. There was no way I was going to be able to sneak out and see Simon without him noticing.
The next day we went into town to the farmerâs market and spent the night at the inn. But today Iâm back at the farm, and in fifteen minutes, Iâll be sneaking out to see my man.
I glance in the mirror again at my hair. Itâs probably fine, but I canât stop messing with it. Somehow Iâm more nervous now than I was when he first asked me to hop up on Jack and go for a ride. Iâm wearing my pajamas, but underneath, Iâve got on brand new lingerie thatâs going to make my bad boyâs jaw drop.
I have on stockings and a garter belt with a thong that makes my âpeachâ look as good as it ever does. I even put on a little body lotion to make my skin shine. I havenât been able to stop glancing at my butt in the mirror ever since he gave me that compliment.
Is it really that nice? No oneâs ever mentioned it before, but then again, who would have? Itâs not like Iâm some princess out here on the farm with dozens of male suitors coming to court me. I never thought I was anything special, but if a man like Simon likes me, maybe I am.
Itâs crazy just how much my life has changed in the last two days. Not only did he wake a dormant side of my personality when he stripped me bare and had his way with me â a bad girl side I never knew â but heâs also made me realize that itâs okay to want something for me.
Living on the farm, itâs always been about my daddyâs rules. Not like heâs a cruel man or anything like that, because he isnât, but I always just listened and did as I was told and never thought much about what I wanted in life.
But now I have something I want. Simon. And heâs all that matters now.
Quietly, I tiptoe over to the wall and listen. Daddyâs snoring, which means heâs sleeping nice and soundly. I pad down the steps and quietly open the back door. And there he is. Simon. Standing in the shadows of the orchard. My heart blooms as he steps into the moonlight, illuminating his gorgeous face.
