Chapter 15

Thursday – Jan. 3, 2002

At five o'clock, Star awoke from a deep sleep wide eyed and alert. She had spent a long night tossing and turning. In the early morning hours when she had settled into a sound sleep, the Lord had visited her with another dream. As the morning sunlight began to filter through the front windows of her house, Star could be seen sitting at her desk. Her right hand held a pen and her left hand waved back and forth through the air while she conversed with the Lord.

“Oh, Lord. I know my dream last night was another given by You. I have not the imagination or the knowledge of the hearts of others to have dreamed this one on my own. You have almost rendered me speechless. I am so overjoyed but yet so humbled. Thank You, Jesus. Thank You, Jesus. Thank You, Jesus. Again I have to ask You, why have You chosen me to dream dreams? Why am I so favored? Not only are You blessing me but You are blessing my family.”

Star sat with tears streaming down her checks. Again and again she went over the dream in her mind. The Lord had told her not to share her dream with anyone. How would anyone believe her dream if she could not share it at this time with anyone? A conversation in days past came back to her remembrance. Star had asked someone how to copyright her song. She knew then what to do. She would do a poor man's copyright. Star penned the dream onto her personal stationery. She addressed an envelope to herself and put a stamp on it. Star put it aside until she could run to the post office. After finishing her writing, Star continued her talk with the Lord. Ruth and her children pulled at her heart strings. What could she do to help them? What would make their lives easier?

The phone began to ring. Star picked it up and heard Oliver's voice on the other end. “Hello, Star. This is Oliver. Told you I'd get back with you this beautiful morning. How are you today? How's Ruth and the little ones doing today? Are you ready for news on the van?”

Star laughed. “I am fine this beautiful morning. Haven't seen Ruth or the children yet today but I think they are all doing fine. Let me give you the news first, Oliver. Ruth's van is very very dead.”

“Did you have a dream, Star? You aren't turning into one of those mind readers are you?”

“No! No! No dream about the van. I am not about to become a mind reader, Oliver! Remember that I was with Ruth the last time she tried to start the van. I just knew it had given up the ghost. It was well worn!”

“What do you want me to do with the van, Star? Do you want me to run out and tell Ruth about the van? It isn't worth fixing but I could help her sell it for parts.
