The Armament Development Laboratory built an additional 20 âliveâ Carolina Moon mines. These featured a sophisticated radar fuse in their upper surface which would cause them to explode when they floated underneath the Dragonâs Jaw. The radar could distinguish the size of overhead objects so it would not detonate prematurely when a bird or aircraft passed over it.
