The next morning, I closed Kailey’s door behind me and headed down the street toward home. I didn’t usually spend the night with women, but I’d make an exception for Kailey. I wanted to spend the night, which kind of surprised me because not doing that was my number one rule. Before Kailey, I wasn’t the kind of guy who needed to be in a relationship. I didn’t really hold girls after sex. I didn’t stay long. It was just easier that way to make a clean break. Nothing had been that serious for me. But I got wiser after my mishap with Ashley. No more one-night stands. The thing that happened with Ashley solidified that decision for me.

And even though Kailey was emotionally unavailable, there was something about the black-haired beauty that I wanted. I craved her. She was different, and the more I got to know her, the more I wanted her.

I was so glad I’d made the decision to intrude on Kailey’s Friday night. Even though it had been a simple night of pizza, a movie, and some hot sex on the sofa, it was seriously the perfect night.
