Diane took a deep breath, picked up the phone, and called Isaac Rosenthal, Quest Media’s chairman. After a brief hello, she got right to the point.

“I’ve been thinking about our meeting in London, and the turnaround we’ve been discussing.”

Isaac let out a humorless laugh. “I not only think about it, I lose sleep over it. What are your thoughts?”

“I appreciate your suggestion that I take the lead on the turnaround committee, but I’m not sure I’m up for it at this point.”

“What do you mean?”

“Frankly, I think it’s more responsibility than I’m willing to take on right now.”

Isaac paused before answering. “I’m disappointed, but I appreciate your candor. You’re not thinking of retiring, are you?”

“Not entirely, no.”

“What are your plans?”

“That’s what I’m trying to figure out. But I do know that the role you’ve laid out for me isn’t the one I want to play. I think Larry Zuniga, with his operations mind-set, might be perfect for it. He and I had some great discussions in London.”

“Larry?” Isaac sounded intrigued. “That’s an interesting idea, Diane. Let me sleep on it.”
