Chapter Fourteen

April

Macy had me up all night analyzing and gossiping and then reanalyzing what happened between Onyx or rather Michael and me. I fell asleep, and she was still talking.

Now that it is the next day, I don’t think I will be able to go through with it. I sit in our usual booth and wait for her to come in. I order a chicken caesar salad and a Coke, ordering Macy the same, so she doesn’t have to wait when she gets here.

The minute both of our plates come out, the door to the diner swings open, and I see Macy running toward me. “What are you going to wear tonight?”

“What? Girl, sit down.”

She pulls off her jacket and her bag. She drops down into the seat, her face still red from the exertion. “Fine, I’m sitting, now what are you going to wear tonight?”

“Macy, stop it. You don’t think I can truly go back to that class now, especially after last night.”

Her mouth drops open, and she gawks at me in disbelief.

“I thought you said you liked it?”

“I did. I felt that kiss down to my very toes, but there is no way we can do it again. It will be too weird for me to pretend I don’t know him after that kiss.”

“Why? It’s called role play; do it,” Macy states.

“I don’t have time for that, what’s the point?” I feel myself getting more frustrated. I have been to more than six classes, and he still hasn’t been able to teach me how to orgasm. He knows I am defective, so what’s the point of getting all riled up for no reward.

“I really believe that this is the guy for you. I believe this is the one to give you your first big O. You just have to let him. Relax, babe, and enjoy the ride.”

“I’ll be too embarrassed.”

“Really? Why? Do you know who Michael Desrin is?”

I think back long and hard, but the name doesn’t ring any bells. “No.”

“Good, because neither did I. I had to do a little digging and find out a bit about him. He’s a financial advisor, and one of his clients just happens to be Mitch & Leve Corp. He is also one of the most eligible bachelors in the tri-state area.”

I go through everything Macy just told me, but I understand what it’s supposed to mean to me. “Ok, so what?”

“So what? It means he has more to lose than you. Why do you think he does the class masked? Imagine what the paps would say if they discovered the wonder boy was teaching a class on orgasms. Even if things don’t turn out the way I think they will, it’s not like he could ever say anything to anyone about who you are.”

I look away and put a piece of lettuce in my mouth. Macy makes a very good point. He does have way more to lose than I do. “Ok, fine,” I concede.

Macy claps her hand and digs into her salad.
