Kordo sat in his car down the street from the production trucks for Storm’s Eye. Filming had moved from yesterday’s downtown location to the exterior of a café a block from the beach.

Thanks to his encounter with that nosy jerk at the hotel last night, sneaking onto the set in his guard uniform was no longer an option.

He could work around that. All he needed to do was to find Barnett’s Porsche. Once he did, he would follow Barnett when he left, and deal with the producer someplace quieter.

A woman approached his car and started to put a piece of paper under his windshield wiper.

He tapped the glass and scowled, causing her to jump and grab her chest. “Sorry, I didn’t see you.”

When he didn’t respond, she motioned for him to open his window. Kordo waved for her to move on, but she remained where she was.

With a roll of his eyes, he lowered the window halfway. “What?”

She held out the piece of paper. “We’re looking for a friend of ours who’s gone missing. Maybe you’ve seen him?”

“I haven’t. Sorry.”

“You didn’t even look at his picture.”

Hoping it would make her go away, he snatched the flyer and glanced at it. He shook his head. “Like I said, I do not know him.”

When he tried to give the flyer back, the woman took a step away.

“Keep it. Maybe you’ll see him later. If you do, call the number. Thanks.”

As she hurried to the next parked car, Kordo crumpled the flyer and tossed it into the back seat.
