For ‘necropolitics’, the theoretical background for the treatment of the burial in Antigone, which I now adopt, I am indebted to Osman Balkan of the Department of Political Science at Swarthmore College PA, who kindly sent me his contribution to Bargu (2019) (ed.) titled: “The Cemetery of Traitors”, after we had discussed the issue of the burial of Polyneices as part of the Lauder Europe Regional Program of the University of Pennsylvania, which he directs, in Summer of 2019.
