So it was perfect timing that a publishing company contacted me and asked if I could join their team of speakers at conferences they hosted around the country. The company’s founder was the father of a son on the autism spectrum and he had created the company to share information. Authors and others with experience in education and therapy formed a core group of speakers from which a community could choose, based on the topics they most wanted to hear about. He then organized a two-day conference in the community with a keynote speaker, four to five other presenters, and books for sale. When the original music therapy speaker was no longer available, I got the opportunity to join the group.
