American-born Janet marries Samy, an Iranian graduate student. Their first child has just been born, and Janet’s mother goes to the couple’s apartment to ready it for Janet and the baby’s homecoming from the hospital.

Janet’s mother curiously watches her son-in-law’s actions, reluctant to ask anything about this procedure.
