The Axe Kick

The axe kick is sometimes called the smash kick because your leg intends to smash your opponent’s head using the sole of your foot or your heel. Because it needs to be executed with the element of surprise, it is one of the kicks that encourages to use the front leg than the rear leg. However, a rear leg axe kick may be deadly since it has more power.

To execute the axe kick, whether it is the front or the rear leg, just do the following steps.

Step 1: Get into your stance.

Step 2: Swing your leg upward, as high as possible. Let it fall on your opponent’s head or face using your sole or heel.

Remember not to bend your knee as you swing your leg. You may jump or skip to make your axe kick higher. However, the more higher your axe kick is, the more you become prone to a counter attack.
