The Buffet Table
An attractive centerpiece should be placed in the center of the table, and each dish should have the appropriate serving utensils. When planning the arrangement of a buffet table, the following order is traditionally used:
Plates
Side dishes
Main dish
Vegetables
Salad
Bread
Butter
Relishes
Forks
Knives
Napkins
Place drinks on a separate table to avoid spills and crowding. Make sure there is plenty of seating. Position chairs in groups of three or more so that your guests may enjoy each other’s company while dining.
