Chapter Six

The school year was about to end, and even though summer was right around the corner, the day was wetter and colder than it’d been in weeks. As I followed my class to the bus line, my phone beeped.

My heart was racing as I waved goodbye to the little ones and watched the last bus pull out from its designated spot. I knew it was Ethan. He’s been texting me more, and even called the night after camping to hear my voice before he went to sleep.

Ethan: Are you off work yet?

Me: Just heading to my car now

Ethan: Feel like getting muddy?

Me: Sure…

Ethan: Meet me at Billy’s

Me: I’m not dressed for mud…

Ethan: Brenda’s your size, isn’t she?

Me: Yes. Okay

I was tickled that he was so anxious, so I agreed to wear Brenda’s clothes. We weren’t exactly the same size. She had wider hips, and my breasts were larger, but I was certain we could make something work.

I drove to Brenda’s and found Ethan in the garage sitting on a four wheeler. He smiled when I pulled up and rushed toward me as I got out of the car. “You like four wheelers?” he asked.

“Yes. I love them,” I replied, not sure if love was the word I should’ve used.

My dad and I rode them when we hunted, but I’d never been on one just for fun. I had a feeling that Ethan was ready for an adrenaline rush, and I was in for a scare.

“Good,” he said, gripping my hand to pull me toward him.

Our lips met, and it felt as if it were the first time. Electricity shot through my veins and tingles took over my body as he allowed his mouth to linger on mine.

“I have some clothes for you,” Brenda said, poking her head out the garage door from the house.

“Go get dressed,” he instructed cheerfully, slapping me on the ass as I walked toward the door.

Brenda’s jeans were a little loose, causing them to fall around my hips. I actually liked the way they hung as I looked in the mirror. I may have to buy my jeans a size bigger from now on, I thought to myself.

The t-shirt was tight, making my boobs look huge. Thankfully, it was cold, and she’d laid out a sweatshirt for me to wear over it, which was a bit looser.

I slipped into the hiking boots she’d given me to wear and headed back to the garage to meet Ethan.

“You look like you’re ready,” he grinned.

I wasn’t sure I was.

“You’re not gonna scare me, are you?” I asked.

He hiked his leg over the seat, slid into position, and patted the back of his seat. “I’d never scare you,” he smirked.

I slid onto the backseat, pushing myself against him tightly. He started the quad and revved its engine leaving a puff of smoke behind us. “Take it easy on me,” I pleaded as he took off out of the garage and around to the back of Billy and Brenda’s house.

Brenda waved from the back patio as we zoomed by, much faster than I’d expected at take-off.
