MORE TO EXPLORE

4 Rue Montorgueil is one of the most charming streets in Paris. It is the subject of Monet’s famous painting Rue Montorgueil with waving flags. This pedestrian street is full of great restaurants and cafés. Stop in at the Stohrer patisserie and admire the gorgeous ceiling painting by Paul Baudry, who also painted the lobby of l’Opéra Garnier. Or check out the beautiful café Rocher de Cancale, recognizable by its recently renovated façade painted light blue with gold lettering. The small side streets are also worth strolling down.

8 Somewhat hidden away behind the Pompidou Centre, between Rue du Temple, Rue Rambuteau, and Rue Beaubourg, lies the Jardin Anne Frank. This park is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Look for Anne Frank’s chestnut tree—back in 2007, a cutting from the tree Anne described in her diary was planted here by the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. The garden is also home to the Musée de la Poupée, a doll museum.
