The month ends with the Aruba International Triathlon (contact IBISA at [email protected], 297/585-4987), which consists of a 1.5k swim, 40k bike race, and 10k run, with cash prizes and trophies for the winners. The main event begins at Eagle Beach across from the MVC-Club, next to the Tulip restaurant. It starts with a two-loop 1.5k swim, then a 40k bike segment (eight loops along Irausquin Blvd. from Costa Linda Resort to Divi Phoenix Resort), and ends with a five-loop run along the same bike course. Around 400 athletes from Aruba, the United States, Europe, and Latin America compete in the triathlon.
