Consequently, landscapes, including those considered to be, or to include, mining concessions, can be seen as social configurations, inscribed with ideas of identity, history and religion, as well as the ownership, governance, use and organisation of land. Consequently, if concessions offer additional ways of configuring the landscape, how could we imagine (in greater detail than the examples discussed previously allow) such processes to take shape? How do mining concessions alter the way landscape is valorised and governed? How do they alter boundaries? And how do different people incorporate the dynamics of mining concessions into configurations of landscape? In order to explore these questions, we will now turn to several of the discussions that emerged during the resettlement process of the village of Chaindatha.
