INSTRUCTIONS

You will need two strands of each desired color of thread. Cut each to the same length, approximately 2 feet (60 cm). Gather all of your thread together and tie a square knot at the top. You can either use a safety pin or tape to secure the bracelet and make it easy to braid.

Separate your threads into two sections making sure to have two strands per color on each side. Use photos on the opposite page as a guide.

Grab one color from the right side and pull it to the middle. Then pull the same color from the left side. Now add the piece from the left side and pull it over all the strands of thread to the middle. Then add it to the right side and pull the groups at the top to tighten. It’ll be important to keep tightening as you move along.

Repeat this until you’ve gone through all of your colors.

When you’ve repeated until the desired length, tie a knot at the bottom.

You should have a knot at the top and a knot at the bottom with excess strands on either side to make the bracelet.

This project is meant to be simple so that kids of all ages can make them. But for a fancier, more involved look you can add beads, dangles or whatever you’d like to the bracelets.
