Archangel Michael

The archangels are the superstars of the angelic hierarchy, and Michael is the archangels’ archangel. He has a powerfully cleansing, bright, fiery energy. His sword of light removes heaviness, darkness, and negativity by quickly incinerating it and thereby transmuting it into positive energy. Personally, I work with Archangel Michael more than any other deity, as he’s a “get things done” kind of guy, and with his swift ability to cleanse away negativity and create the most positive atmosphere possible, he is a man (or angel, to be more precise) after my own heart.

I’m very fond of performing this prayer/visualization (inspired by the work of Doreen Virtue—see bibliography) to enlist Michael’s help to cleanse the energy of my home:

Sit comfortably and close your eyes. Ask Archangel Michael to powerfully fill your entire home with very bright white light. See him doing this, and see the white light pouring out from his hands and creating a giant bubble of light that completely envelops your home, extending outside its walls, above the roof, and below the earth like a giant energy field. Then, ask Michael to powerfully sweep away any lingering dark or negative spots within the energy field, and see or sense him doing this. You might like to imagine that he has a giant glowing vacuum tube that swiftly vacuums up this energy. Finish by calling on angels to surround your house, holding this positive energy in place.

In addition to one or more pictures/statues of Michael, some items you might choose for an altar devoted to Archangel Michael include:

Royal blue or indigo (for cloth and candles)

One or more candles are a must, as Michael’s energy is so fiery

Cedar, cinnamon, and frankincense oil or incense
