~ The elastic is stretched out
~ You’re wearing it on the last hook and it’s still moving around and loose
~ Your body has changed and you are wearing the wrong size
~ The wires are poking out
~ Your boobs are hanging lower than they should
~ There are holes in the bra
~ The hook is broken
If you use all of your homes equally, I would suggest having 3-5 everyday bras at each house that you rotate wearing because wearing the same bra every day will drastically reduce its lifespan. If you have a house that you only use once a year do not store bras there.
You might want to include your sexier pieces at your beach house or specific foundational pieces for certain outfits. For example, strapless bras are much needed in tropical climates.
You also might just want to travel with your favorite bras and not choose to stock your homes with bras. That way you can keep an eye on the ones you have and replace them as needed.
With multiple homes you actually have an opportunity to express yourself with lingerie depending on the locale. If you are comfortable being a chameleon, you might find yourself wearing a brighter or sexier color in the tropics, but in New York or your city home, sticking to nude and black colors. Feel free to define each house as a different lingerie identity. Channel Bridget Bardot in St. Barts and Dita Von Tease in Paris. Have fun with it!
You also might decide to stock a particular home with more sexy lingerie because you know you will have more opportunities for intimate moments. Sometimes the pace of the city gets to us, but when we’re in a tropical setting we can let loose and feel free. Also in warmer climates you’re going to want to have at least two strapless bras for those more bare dresses. And possibly specific Spanx for white pants or more form fitting dresses.
Never put your bras in the washing machine. Hand wash them with delicate wash by the Laundress or another bra friendly detergent. Line dry. If you do put them in the washer make sure to put them in a mesh bag, use delicate cycle, and then line dry.
When should you get refit for a new bra?
